Regular Season Standouts

So, as I've said, I'm in three leagues.  One thing that I thought may be interesting to investigate was which players were the difference makers in the leagues I was in this year.  To do this, I started by looking at which players were on playoff teams in all three of my leagues.  Here they are.

QB
Kurt Warner
Phil Rivers
Matt Leinart
Aaron Rodgers

RB
Chris Johnson
Shonn Greene
Ray Rice
Jamaal Charles
Thomas Jones
Julius Jones

WR/TE
Vernon Davis
Steve Breaston
DeSean Jackson
Dallas Clark
Vincent Jackson
Mike Sims-Walker
Miles Austin
Jerricho Cotchery
Devin Hester
Pierre Garcon

Not surprisingly, this is mostly a laundry list of the fantasy difference makers this year.  Time and time again, it isn't about the guy you take first (or spend the most money on), it's about the bargains and who hits the right buttons when it comes to free agents.  Notice the high profile guys who are having great years that didn't make the list.

Larry Fitzgerald
Andre Johnson
Adrian Peterson
Maurice Jones-Drew
Tom Brady
Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Brett Favre
Matt Schaub
Randy Moss
Wes Welker
Reggie Wayne

It takes more than just picking a few stars in the draft/auction, clearly.  Using the knowledge from the lists above, I declare these players to be the Fantasy MVPs of the regular season in 2009.  These are the guys that you got that were the true difference makers for your team.

Kurt Warner
Aaron Rodgers
Phillip Rivers
Ray Rice
Chris Johnson
Jamaal Charles
Thomas Jones
Vincent Jackson
DeSean Jackson
Mike Sims-Walker
Miles Austin
Pierre Garcon
Dallas Clark
Vernon Davis

Am I missing anyone?

Cheers,
TFAM
